About DotNetPress CMS

Building better websites and business tools for UK trades and services

DotNetPress CMS is a Southend-on-Sea-based website platform founded and developed by Ron Palmer. It helps UK trades and service businesses create a content-ready website, preview it before payment and add practical business tools as their needs develop.

Independent and focused

Developed with 28 years of web experience.

DotNetPress combines long-standing experience in web development, content management and ecommerce with a clear focus on the everyday needs of UK small businesses.

Why DotNetPress was created

A practical alternative to starting from a blank page.

Small businesses often face an awkward choice. A blank DIY website builder leaves the owner to plan, write and assemble everything, while a bespoke agency build can require a substantial upfront investment. Plugin-heavy systems may appear flexible but can become difficult to maintain as different tools, updates and subscriptions accumulate.

Ron created DotNetPress CMS to provide another route: a professionally structured, content-ready website that can be generated around the business type, services and locations, then reviewed before checkout. Hosting and CMS access are included, without a separate upfront website-development charge.

The platform is developed and supported from Southend-on-Sea. Its purpose is to give trades and service businesses a credible starting point now, while keeping carefully selected business tools available when they solve a genuine need.

The developer behind the platform

Meet Ron Palmer.

Ron has worked as a web developer for 28 years, building websites, content-management platforms and ecommerce solutions with technologies including ASP.NET and C#.

He became involved with nopCommerce almost from its earliest days and is proud to have been recognised as a nopCommerce MVP. That long-term involvement with an established open-source ecommerce platform helped shape a practical approach to extensible software, maintainable releases and features that must continue working after launch.

Ron remains directly involved in developing and supporting DotNetPress CMS. Product decisions are therefore grounded in the software itself and in the questions business owners raise as they create, manage and expand their websites.

Our mission

Helping trades and service businesses spend less time wrestling with websites.

We believe skilled tradespeople and service professionals should be able to explain their work clearly online without becoming website developers themselves.

DotNetPress provides the website structure, editable content and practical administration needed to present services, locations, images, credentials and enquiry routes professionally. Each business remains responsible for checking that its published services, qualifications, coverage and claims are accurate.

As DotNetPress develops, carefully selected modules can help businesses promote completed work, manage customer relationships, collect reviews and strengthen their local visibility. Available modules and their prices are clearly identified, so customers can distinguish the tools available today from capabilities planned for future development.

What makes DotNetPress different

Designed around a useful starting point and controlled growth.

Content-ready, not blank DIY

Start with pages and initial content structured around the chosen trade or service, then personalise and verify the website before launch.

Curated modules, not plugin sprawl

New capabilities are developed and reviewed as part of DotNetPress so they work with the platform, Admin area and release process.

Start affordably and expand when useful

Begin with a complete website from £19.99 per month, then select individual tools or a broader package when the business genuinely needs them.

What you can expect

A professional website you can manage, not just admire.

Your website includes secure hosting and CMS access, with clear pricing and no separate upfront development charge. You can preview the generated website before payment, update its content through the Admin area and add eligible modules as your requirements change.

DotNetPress software and layouts are maintained as a connected platform. New features are reviewed before release, helping the system remain consistent rather than relying on an uncontrolled collection of third-party plugins.
